Terms of Service
Last updated: November 6, 2026Once Upon Us — the website onceupon.us.com and the Once Upon Us iPhone and Android apps — is made and operated by TKN Studio ("we", "us"). By using any of them you agree to these terms.
What Once Upon Us is
Once Upon Us makes a short animated film of a couple's story from their photos. You pick a style (such as 3D animated, hand-drawn, anime, cartoon, claymation or comic book); we redraw each photo in that style and bring it to life as a 5-second moving scene, put in order with an opening that carries your names, your words on screen, music you pick and your closing line, 1 to 5 minutes long. Once your film is paid for, you add your photos, pick a style, see your first scene and a storyboard of the rest, and then we make your film, usually within 30 minutes. After it is made, the film's editor lets you reorder scenes, replace photos, add scenes up to your film's length and remove scenes; a longer film can be bought later as a one-time upgrade.
Orders on the website
Orders on onceupon.us.com are processed by our online reseller Creem (Armitage Labs OÜ), the Merchant of Record for all orders — Creem handles payment, invoicing and sales tax, and Creem's Buyer Terms also apply. A film is a single one-time payment for the length you pick (1, 3 or 5 minutes); there is no subscription. We start making your film as soon as your payment is confirmed and email you a private link to follow it and watch it. Every scene can be redrawn 3 times for free, and if your film still isn't right you can ask for a full refund within 14 days — see our Refund Policy.
Purchases in the iPhone app
In the iPhone app a film is a one-time in-app purchase made through Apple's App Store with your Apple Account: Apple processes the payment, and Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies. Each purchase is for one film of the length you pick (1, 3 or 5 minutes) and is used when that film is made; there is no subscription and nothing renews. If a purchase doesn't show up, tap Restore on the purchase screen. Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple — see our Refund Policy.
Purchases in the Android app
In the Android app a film is a one-time in-app purchase made through Google Play with your Google Account: Google processes the payment, and the Google Play Terms of Service also apply. Each purchase is for one film of the length you pick (1, 3 or 5 minutes) and is used when that film is made; there is no subscription and nothing renews. If a purchase doesn't show up, tap Restore on the purchase screen. Refunds for Google Play purchases go through Google Play — see our Refund Policy.
Your photos and content
Only add photos you have the right to use and of people who are happy to be in your film. Your photos are uploaded when you add them and are used only to make your film; in the iPhone and Android apps we ask for your permission before anything is sent. Films are AI-made illustrations of your photos, not real footage; scenes added from a description ("a moment without a photo") are imagined by AI. AI can get likenesses and small details wrong — that's what free redraws are for.
Your film and links
Your film stays on your private link for 30 days; download it to keep it. Anyone with your private link or your gift link can watch the film, so share them only with people you choose.
Previews
Storyboards, style examples and example scenes on this site are illustrations; your film's final look may differ in detail.
Acceptable Use Policy
Don't use Once Upon Us to create NSFW, explicit or sexually suggestive content, or content that is hateful, violent, harassing or otherwise harmful. Don't use it to deceive or impersonate anyone, to depict public figures, or with photos of people who haven't agreed. Don't use photos of minors without a parent's consent, and don't use Once Upon Us to break the law. Text you write for your film is checked by an automated moderation service before anything is made, and we can refuse or remove content that breaks this policy.
Liability
The website and the app are provided "as is". To the extent permitted by law we are not liable for indirect damages.
