Privacy Policy
Last updated: November 6, 2026This policy covers the Once Upon Us website (onceupon.us.com) and the Once Upon Us iPhone and Android apps, all run by TKN Studio.
What we collect and why
- Your photos — uploaded when you add them (in the apps, only the photos you pick in the system photo picker; the apps cannot see the rest of your library), used only to make your film, never used to train AI, and deleted whenever you ask.
- The details of your film — your names, the style you pick, the words you write for a moment and your closing line — used to make your film and kept with it.
- Your answers to non-personal questions (what the film is for, the style you like), how many photos you added and the film length you pick, to understand what people want.
- Your email, if you enter it on the website — to email you about your film and your order. Gift ideas only if you tick the box. The apps don't ask for your email.
- Ad-click details on the website (campaign and ad name, Meta click identifiers) and basic technical data (IP address, browser) to measure our ads and prevent abuse.
- In the iPhone app: a random ID created on your iPhone to keep your films together (there is no account), and which steps you complete (for example, that you picked a style or started a film) — never your photos or names — to understand and fix the app.
- In the Android app: a random ID created on your phone to keep your films together (there is no account), and which steps you complete — never your photos or names — to understand and fix the app.
- Voice, camera and microphone in the apps (only if you use them): a voice note you record is uploaded and added to your film. A reaction video from Watch together is recorded on your phone and stays there unless you share it. If you say how it started instead of typing, your phone's speech service turns your words into text; we receive only the text you keep.
- Google Play purchases: Google processes the payment. We receive the purchase record from Google through RevenueCat, our purchase service — product, price, country, date, order number and a random ID — never your Google Account details or your card.
- App Store purchases: Apple processes the payment. We receive the purchase record from Apple through RevenueCat, our purchase service — product, price, country, date and a random ID — never your Apple Account details or your card.
- Website orders: you enter your payment details on Creem's checkout (Creem is our reseller and Merchant of Record); we receive only the order details — email, film length, amount, country — never your card.
How your film is made
To redraw your photos in the style you pick and compose your music we send them to our AI provider, fal.ai, which runs the image and video models for us. They are processed only to make your film and are never used to train AI. In the apps we ask for your permission before your photos, names or words are sent. Text you write for your film (a moment, a note for a scene or for your characters, a song topic, and your names when you order a song) is also checked by our moderation provider, Creem, before anything is made.
Advertising measurement
The website uses the Meta Pixel (in Europe and Turkey only after you accept) and we send Meta a hashed, unreadable version of your email to measure our ads. The apps contain no advertising or tracking SDKs and do not track you across other companies' apps or websites. We do not sell your data.
Retention and deletion
- Uploaded photos: kept privately so you can come back to your film or redraw a scene, until you ask us to delete them.
- Your finished film, its scene previews and its gift link: deleted 30 days after the film is ready.
- Order records: kept as long as tax and accounting rules require.
- Email info@onceupon.us.com to have your photos, film, email and answers deleted at any time.
